Statement

The cultural, psychological, and social factors of my life are reflected in my artwork. As a second-generation Asian American (born and raised in the Bronx, New York), I investigate my cross-cultural identity and connections to the natural world in my art practice.

I create a personal iconography by making calligraphic markings and inventing pictographs. I collage elements from the iconography with patterns and other images to develop a narrative that shows how I connect to the world.
